The Pullman, aka The Train Wreck, won a National Endowment for the Arts First Place Award in 1979 for Architectural Excellence. Additionally, photographs of it have appeared in numerous magazines and books, it has been the subject of two television specials and has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle series: Dream Houses.
